On our second anniversary, I decided to begin a tradition, celebrating each year of our firm’s success by making a donation to a local cause. This year, to celebrate our third anniversary, we’ve become a Community Sponsor for the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium, located in San Pedro, California. Since 1935, the Aquarium has used both natural and interactive approaches to teach visitors about Southern California’s marine environment. Hundreds of thousands of local school children have explored the nearby tide pools, interacted with the Aquarium’s displays, and learned about the incredible resource (our ocean) that we are lucky to have here.
On a personal level, my teenaged daughter and I have been regular volunteers at the Aquarium for two years. We have helped tend the native garden, assisted with beach cleanups, and worked at some of the Aquarium’s free community events. We feel very fortunate to have this resource so close to home, and to be able to share its message with the community.
